Getting to Know Mykelle

Mykelle Richburg is a devoted, organized, and creative nonprofit professional with 6 years of combined experience in strategic planning and public engagement in the nonprofit sector. Mykelle is an energetic and excellent communicator with the ability to cultivate a positive team atmosphere in order to drive success. Mykelle has a proven ability to meet deadlines and build collaborative working relationships with all employee levels and various teams. As the Director of Career Recruitment with the Sadie Collective, Mykelle was able to bring in over $20,000 in-kind donations and engaged over 30 employers that targeted employment opportunities for over 100 black women. The career fair resulted in the hiring of 8 women in full-time positions and internships.

Additionally, Mykelle Richburg was a Summer fellow with the Montgomery County Council, where she researched and synthesized information on public policy priorities for youth transitioning out of foster care. As a result, Montgomery County created a task-force that addresses affordable housing solutions for youth in foster care.

Currently, Mykelle works as a Program Coordinator with the Aspen Institute where she provides logistical and operational support to the team, works on the K12 Climate Action, and focuses on environmental justice initiatives. Mykelle received her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Bachelor's of Arts in Administration of Justice, and Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management Certificate from George Washington University.
